Introduction | When I started thinking about how to describe myself, I decided to include instead some of the stuff that I love: warm, sunny beaches, the kind in Santa Cruz where I was born; the cool ways that watercolor pigments will unexpectedly swirl together or sometimes separate; my wonderful home next to the ocean in Ipitanga, Salvador, Brazil . . . and started seeing a connection: WATER. But of course! My sun and most other signs are all in Cancer - and those lucky enough to be born under this sign are called waterbabies. With a nod to Disney for one of my favorite childhood books, Waterbabies' Circus, what follows are some of the daring, hilarious, stupid, cynical, whimsical or simply smelly and disgusting bits of my circus. |

You moved the pot before the coffee stopped brewing. Do you smell the mountains or the burro?
Neither - I suffer acute sensory deprivation until after I've been properly caffeinated.
