| Introduction | I live on a boat east of Toronto and have always loved the water and the shores it touches. My walks are naturally along these shores and others in my travels. I kept my thoughts from these walks in a journal for many years, not often but when something strikes me as beautiful or odd or out of step with life I wrote it down. Now I am transferring it here slowly and will add more from the past along with whatever may strike my whimsy in the future. Haiku was taught to me in the mid 70's by a Japanese Canadian I worked with at the time. I was intrigued by it's simple form and wrote from time to time. Sadly all my books and journals were lost in a basement flooding in 1997 and I set aside further writing. Five years later I took it up again with baby steps. Putting it in a blog seems to be the proper thing to do today. I hope the cloud is not subject to flooding. |
