| Introduction | Yes, I am 1sickchick! I've been sick with a debilitating autoimmune disease for around 7 years. My disease - undifferentiated connective tissue disease - has affected my lungs, blood vessels, thyroid, kidneys, and joints. One of my doctors put it best when he called me an "autoimmune nightmare". While this is a label that I once balked at, I now embrace it. Although this disease has affected my life in many negative ways it is a part of who I am and I try to make the best of every day that I am given. I am married to my high school sweetheart and have a precious baby boy. Life is all about the good, the bad, and the ugly and I'm enjoying every minute of it! |
