| Introduction | Been sailing since I was 7 when Dad taught me to sail in a home made Mirror dinghy. Now qualified to Yachmaster (theory) and Costal Skipper (practical) mainly thanks to my best mate Shawn Plummer of Fowey Maritime Centre. (www.foweymaritimecentre.com) So..? You gotta help your mates out!I work as a freelance Sound Engineer mainly in the corporate sector doing conferences and corporate events but this also entails some music and band work. Always varied and away from home unfortunately. I originally worked in recording studios starting with 70s band 10CC. From studios to West End musicals - Chess, Cats, Miss Saigon - and then to Cornwall to work as a musician before going back to being a soundie. I would love to volunteer as lifeboat crew but there's not much call for waterbourne rescue services in landlocked Launceston. A huge thanks to my wonderful wife Sally who is a) expecting our baby in October and b) encouraging me to do this trip even though it means I'll be away from her and home for a big part of the summer. And thanks and love to my great kids Nicki and Joe, of whom I'm very proud, for keeping me sane and making me laugh. |
