| Introduction | My days and nights have always been full of views of colors, textures and patterns that fascinate me. I see "abstracted perceptions" in countless objects, from the colors and patterns found in a motorcycle engine in "After the Horse", to the internal workings of a moth orchid in "Continuation of the Species." Bringing a piece to fruition isn't always simple, but may often be tortuous, especially when the piece has a mind of its own-which they often do. As an artist, we may have one vision, but the piece itself decides the final outcome. It may refuse to be totally release from the bounds of form, or plead for just one more thing to make it complete. This grappling with the piece is what keeps me coming back, making it not manufactured, but an "Abstracted Perception." |
