| Introduction | F.E.E.L. (Friends of East End Loonies) is a democratic anarchic group created by Survivors of psychiatry, service users, carers, also open to mental health professionals. We meet on the 3rd Monday of each month @ LARC, 62 Fieldgate St, London E1 1ES (6.30-8.30pm; drop-ins and new faces are always welcome). F.E.E.L. was born in November 2007 by an idea of David Kessel, a retired physician who writes amazing poetry, and Myra Garrett a remarkable woman that has been living and working in Tower Hamlets, committing to the voluntary sector since 1976 and actively campaigning around health, housing and getting rid of nuclear weapons still today. Our aim is to rise more awareness on the psychiatry cosh and empower people in finding their best solutions in managing their mental health/distress. We believe that the psychiatry system does more damage than good ( to patients and staff members alike) and conventional approaches are a form of torture, rather than treatment or care. We are working towards a common goal: join us in doing so. Working together GREATER results can be achieved! |
