Introduction I'm 27 years old and spent the best part of five years flying in Africa..basically the first half of my twenties. It was my career choice which made Africa the easy option to advance it, I wasn't just lying on the couch one Sunday afternoon in New Zealand thinking 'I'm board..I'll go to Africa'. No I put slightly more thought into moving to this continent for two years....which extended to nearly five years(have had a break or two in between) It has been one mad, frustrating; adrenalin packed and eye opening experience one minute to the next from living among the people to the flying. I flew Cessna 206's and 210's in Maun Botswana in the Okavango Delta from 2005 to 2006. In 2008 I began flying Cessna Caravan's in Tanzania and then resigned in 2010. I decided to share a few experiences of my weekly highs and lows of being a bush pilot in Tanzania, which makes up the guts of this blog. From the Sun baked Serengeti plains to the humid tropical spice Islands lying just off the coast. In 2010 I moved to Australia. Where I now fly by proper enforced rules and procedures in a regional airline..it was natural progression I could not run the gauntlet in Africa forever.
