| Introduction | A news writer/reporter for the Bryan County News in southeast Georgia just outside of Savannah, the aspiration to be a novelist has always been constant, though yet unachieved. Writers Anonymous,a support group for writers, was born May 15th at a quaint mexican restaurant in Richmond Hill, Georgia by a group of five writers who sought respite from the often lonely craft of fiction writing. Together, we offer the support and encouragement needed for motivation, as well as the opportunity for teaching and learning what we can about the wonderful, awful craft to which we feel drawn. We've discovered that writing is something we must do to quell the voices of the characters constantly talking in our head, struggling to get out. Writing is the chance to let their voices be heard. We want to cultivate the craft toward publication, to feel the thrill of seeing a perfectly bound volume with our very own name on the spine. |
