| Introduction | I am working as a Peace Corps health volunteer in South Africa for 27 months from January 2012 to March 2014. Peace Corps decided to humble me and placed me in the middle of nowhere! Really, it is a rural village called Isandlwana in the kwa-Zulu Natal Province. I am speaking isiZulu and trying to become one of the locals. I spend most of my time dodging cows, chasing chickens and goats, trying to speak the language, carrying water on my head, washing my laundry by hand, playing soccer and net ball, playing practical jokes on the ladies at my org, offending the locals with my American ways, and occasionally doing some health work. |
