| Introduction | In 2008, our community of Cavendish, Prince Edward Island was inspired by the 100th anniversary of the publication Anne of Green Gables to honour the novel’s author, L. M. Montgomery. This ongoing non-profit community resource provides international-standard professional theatre for residents and visitors, students of all ages and arts lovers throughout Prince Edward Island. Our productions are designed to help our audience appreciate the depth and breadth of Montgomery’s influence on literature, culture and art in the world. Our community renovated the 128 year old Long River Church, a church attended by Montgomery in the summers; into a 200 seat thrust style theatre in which to perform our plays. We will present three plays in repertory between July 14 and August 23, 2009 Private Lives by Noel Coward in The Church at Avonlea Village The Four Poster by Jan de Hartog The Church at Avonlea Village Maud of Cavendish by Kathleen MacLaughlin at Green Gables House Tickets range from $16 to $32 each.
