| Introduction | Ian Butter BSc (Hons) FRICS MRTPI is a Chartered Surveyor and Town Planning consultant who advises on all aspects of Town Planning throughout Britain. Ian has written and lectured on a range of planning and development topics and was co-author of a widely circulated publication for the Countryside Commission which is now highlighted in the UK Government's 'Good Practice Guide on Planning for Tourism' (2006). More recently he advised Matthew Taylor MP on rural regeneration issues for his 2008 report to Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Ian is the developer and publisher of www.planning-applications.co.uk an online Planning Aid service and www.ruralworkspace.co.uk the rural property portal.
