Introduction	Our son Shane passed away during his birth on November 8, 2007. He was diagnosed by ultrasound with a very severe form of caudal regression syndrome when I was 32 weeks pregnant with him. I made the very difficult decision to deliver him by induction at 34 weeks. This particular syndrome is commonly associated with gestational diabetic mothers, but I was completely healthy. There was no explanation and there remains no known reason for what happened to Shane. I still struggle with this today...knowing I will never understand the reason why is the hardest thing to grasp... Shane's family and friends are doing everything they can to keep him alive in spirit. This site will keep you up to date on what those things are.
