| Introduction | Stacy Cordery's recent book, Juliette Gordon Low: The Remarkable Founder of the Girl Scouts, will be released for publication with Viking/Penguin on 16 February 2012. She is a professor of History at Monmouth College, in Monmouth, Illinois, and the author of the New York Times notable book Alice: Alice Roosevelt Longworth, from White House Princess to Washington Power Broker. She has written two earlier books about Theodore Roosevelt and, for the spring of 2011, was a Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the Theodore Roosevelt Center at Dickinson State University in Dickinson, North Dakota. Cordery is also the web bibliographer for the National First Ladies Library. Like her mother and grandmother before her, she was, of course, a Girl Scout! |
