| Introduction | Giftedness has many faces, but far too often educators see only one: the student who sits quietly in class, knows all of the answers to questions asked, cooperates with everyone, and is highly verbal. We know, however, that there are other signs of giftedness. Does your child exhibit extraordinary interpersonal skills? An early interest in and aptitude for music? Natural athletic ability? While these talents may not qualify your child for gifted programs in school, there are ways that you can foster their special gifts. Education is more than school. It is learning to be a citizen of the world, a friend, a family member. It is learning to interact with others in a positive way. It is learning to understand the social constructs under which a society operates. This blog will look at education in all of its varied forms. |
