| Introduction | Founded during the 20th Century Pentecostal movement in 1936 some 30 yrs. after the Azusa Street revival in Los Angeles, CA by A.J. Justice & his wife Madeline. Sent to plant & shepherd by the General Council of the Assemblies of God, Springfield MO. The original facility for assembling was made of logs hauled by the local men of the church out of the Blue Mountains in Monticello, UT. Pastor Edward Phelps, his sons & local men built the roof now observable 40 yrs. later. There was a period of church closure for some time until Rocky Mountain Ministries Network sent to re-open. Formalized IRS 501(c)(3) status in 1964. Praise God for the shelter we have to gather within! We are stoked to share more history with you! With splendid mountain views in all four directions, this town derives its name from the wild doves inhabiting local waterways. It is the county seat for Dolores County. The city was founded in 1939, a small rural community in Southwestern Colorado, known as one of the pinto bean capitals of the world. Farming in this area is high altitude dry land, with a strong emphasis on soil & water conservation production practices. Join us as we follow Jesus Christ! |
