| Introduction | kelly's wife. mother of emma, lucy & isaac. sister to michael, daniel, christopher & jacob. orphaned by cancer. i feel healthy. i feel young. i have no good reason to believe i will get "the flu" next christmas. i have no good reason to think it will last much much longer than normal. there is no good reason to wonder if my body will begin to show bruises with no explanation for where they came from. there are no good reasons for the thoughts that consume me now, except that i am a motherless daughter. i've lived more than half my life without a mom, and as the days approach when i will outlive her, i find it occupying my thoughts. i don't want to ignore it. i choose to remember her. |
