About me

Introduction	I am scientist by training, but am not working now. I am very concerned about "School Reform." My district - Seattle Public Schools - is undergoing "corporatist" reform (my synonym for "School Reform"), which is bringing "industrialized education" to the non-charter public schools. Progressive Alternative schools are no longer supported by the School Board and the District, and are being phased out. Few people here understand what is happenning. My co-activists and I are trying to learn all about this and to educate the public. We want healthy, effective public schools that genuinely serve the goal of closing the racial gap in on-time graduation rates, college-preparedness, college-admissions, college degree attainment, and post-graduation income potential for those graduates who do not endeavor to go to college.
