IntroductionSouthern Gothic mansions, Victorian parlors, a graveyard in the gloaming hour, the attic that everyone is afraid to go into, the doll that never gets played with -- these are the shrouds in which much of my work is buried. I draw from many different sources fairy tales, literature, mythology, horror movies, and my own writing. I’m a self taught artist with a BA in English with an emphasis in creative writing. This may seem odd for a visual artist, but I’m interested in the mixing of different art forms. I’ve taken my writing one step further by creating visual poems and stories through my shadow boxes and shrines. I create functional art, as well, for the home and to wear. I don’t believe in putting limits on my work. If a theme is better suited to a necklace, a shadow box or a poem I want the freedom to explore it.
