Introduction	Paul's links with Zarasai district are through his mother's father. The SHADUR (also SADUR /SHADOUR /SHADOR / SCHADER/ SHADER) family came from Salakas. After many years of slow progress, in late 2006, some luck allowed him to use LitvakSIG resources to expand this side of his family tree in a few months from 44 living members to identify over 1400 cousins and back to the 1780s. He is now trying to find out what happened to those parts of the family that hadn't emigrated to the "west" by 1941.
