About me

Introduction Hi my name is Kara Mahoney Robinson and this is my first season working with the Right Whale team in the Bay of Fundy season. I have been up to visit in the past but never for an extended period of time. I flew aerial surveys in the Southeast Critical habitat for three winters, so I am familiar with the population. I first started with the Aquarium in the summer of 2000 as a Harbor Discoveries Camp Intern, since then I have held a number of positions; Whale Watch Intern, Whale Watch Crew member and naturalist, Science at Sea naturalist, Program Educator, Right whale aerial observer and most recently one of the Education Programs Coordinators in the Education Department. I am so lucky that I have been able to combine my love of studying whales and my love for teaching! This season, I look forward to learning who the whales are that are utilizing this habitat, seeing who the moms are who made it up north with their calves and above all heading out to explore which animals are using the Roseway Basin habitat!
