Introduction	I have been active my entire life and a recreational runner for many years, but it wasn't until all my children left home that I began running with a purpose; I began training. I ran my first 5k in 2006 and I was hooked. Im not sure what did it; my surprising 3rd place finish in my age group, or the thrill of crossing the finish line feeling like I was going to puke. I truely think it was the ladder but whatever it was I have been training and competing ever since. I have done many short middle and long distance events including 3 marathons, 7 half marathons, 1 Half Ironman, 3 olympic distance triathlons and many 5k & 10k races many of which I placed well in my age group. Through my excitement and dedication I have inspired others around me to begin running including my husband, children, colleagues, patients and many others. I love that my enthusiasm inspires those around me because I belive that being happy and healthy is a life style and a frame of mind. But I'm not done yet! I have lots more I want to do including an Ironman, an Ultramarathon and Cycle Oregon. After that...who knows!
