Introduction This is just a blog to show off the things I do with my pixie's hair for family and friends far away.

The willing victim, er, I mean model is my ten year old daughter, nicknamed Iolanthe by a dear friend of mine. (NO, it's not her real name!) She has very straight, very fine, thin hair (1aFi by Fia's Hair Typing System) that is currently to her tailbone.

Most of the styles we use don't involve heat, hairspray, teasing/ratting, gel, etc.
What do we use instead? Silicone- and SLS-free conditioner, the amazing natural shampoo bars from Chagrin Valley, coconut oil, and wooden or ox-horn combs. Do they really make a difference? Well, all I know is that she rarely ever gets split ends, and that's good enough for us.

I'm not trying for perfection, just function and a bit of fun! Our styles are done in real time; we sit down every morning before school (and work) to do her hair. What you see is what we really did that day.

And it probably goes without saying that I really don't want my daughter's pictures reposted somewhere else without my permission.
