Introduction | I presently live just outside the Adirondack Park and serve as a clergyman of a small rural church. Many days find me poking around the mountains and lakes of the northern Adirondacks with family, friends and independently. For the past eight years I have been writing the weekly outdoor column for the Lake Champlain Weekly magazine that chronicles the history of the Lake Champlain valley. Since the Lake and the High Peaks are so closely and historically entwined, much of my writing is about the hiking, hunting, fishing and outdoor activities of both. As a new columnist eight years ago, I thought this weekly thing would be great for about six months or so. By then I fully expected I would have covered all that needed to be said. The mountains and lake regions have not let me down. Each week brings new tales to tell and controversy to cover! I do not foresee it decreasing in the near future. My hope is that you find this informative, entertaining and perhaps challenging as we trek through the mountains and valleys. |
