| Introduction | I spent most of my working life working for "The" telecomms company. My final job being manager of a support team for the latest digital public switches. I was also the District System Access Security Manager. After that I spent a few years commissioning these switches for the manufacturer. Since then I have worked in schools running networks, the largest of which had 800 stations and 18 servers. I did for a time (2 years) produce the website for this large college. I also did a lot of the cabling and installation of most of the stations and printers/scanners, and installed all the wireless access points. I have just retired (again) but I need something to focus on. I am not ready to go out to grass yet. Apart from computers, campanolgy is another interest. I am not one of those ringers whose life is taken over by the bells, but it is quite interesting and keeps the mind active. If anyone is interested, I could describe it in a future blog. |
