| Introduction | Running Parachuting & Skydiving Courses for beginners and providing a continuation facility for those wishing to make further jumps. Central for the North East of England 1.5 miles from the A19, mid-way between Tyneside & Teesside, only a short drive from Newcastle, Sunderland, Durham and Middlesbrough as well as accessible from North Yorkshire and Southern Scotland. Our primary parachuting aircraft is a Texas Turbine converted Cessna 208B which regularly lifts 15 parachutists to 15,000ft up & down in 15 minutes, as well as a smaller 4 place Cessna 182 parachute aircraft capable of lifting 4 parachutists to 10,000ft in 30 minutes. The Peterlee Parachute Drop Zone has been active since 1 April 1987, is a listed site of Significant Sporting Interest by Sport England, has hosted National Parachuting Championships, UK Skydiving League Events and British Parachute Association Instructor Courses, as well as offering Tandem Skydiving, Accelerated Free Fall and Category System Parachuting from Static Line through Free Fall to Licence Level and beyond. |
