About me

Gender Male
Occupation Psychologist, University Clinical Professor
Location Orem, Utah
Introduction I was born in Coronado, San Diego, California. I became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (nickname "the Mormons") at age 17. I was a student at Brigham Young University and have a Ph.D in Counseling Psychology. I recently retired after 38 years on the faculty of BYU. I am married to Sherri McUne MacArthur and we have ten children (six boys, four girls and two sets of twins) and 40 grandchildren. I speak English and Spanish fluently (we lived in Chile 2010-2013) and I love to read. And I LOVE to "think" and share my ideas with others--not to be "right" but simply to learn from you as you perhaps learn from me. I do not have to completely agree with someone to learn from them. I try to keep an open mind even though I have a clear set of personal values.
