Introduction I am currently the Executive Director of a new enterprise, Hebrew at the Center: The Center for Hebrew Teaching and Learning in Boston. The Center will focus on the dissemination of the Proficiency approach to Hebrew language acquisition. Prior to this position I was the Director of Congregational Learning at Temple Israel in Boston where adult learning was a particular focus. I continue to write curriculum for adult learners and teachers of adult learners. As part of one of the Mandel Visions projects I worked on the notion of a vision for Adult Learning in the congregational setting. I was a Jerusalem Fellow in the mid-1990's, hold a BA in Economics from UMASS-Amherst (via the Hug L'kalkala at Hebrew U) and an MA in Jewish Studies from Hebrew College in Boston. My significant personal project while a Jerusalem Fellow, in addition to my work on the connection between education and the community in which it is embedded, was the birth of my son in 1996.
