| Introduction | I was raised in a Christian home and my family attended a solid church. Two weeks before my sister and I turned four, we were singing a hymn in church which talked about Jesus blood, and for the first time, I realized that I needed to ask Jesus to take my sins away. When we arrived home from church, my sister and I went upstairs to our bedroom and discussed our need to be saved. We both traipsed downstairs to where our mom was making lunch, and we asked her how to have our sins taken away. She took us out to our Little Tikes picnic table, on our front porch, and explained the plan of salvation. That day, we both asked God to take our sins away and to save us! We made assurance of our salvation when we were ten years old and baptized two weeks before we turned fourteen. In Junior High, God brought a wonderful Pastor’s wife into our lives and during that time we began to do daily devotions and to flourish spiritually. We also developed a great love for ministry and enthusiasm to see God work. Now, my husband is in seminary and we are preparing for whatever ministry God calls us to next, with an eye specifically on the Army chaplaincy. |
