| Introduction | My name is Cindy Jackson and I am the founder of Burn Care International. In 2001, while my family was living overseas in South America, I was seriously burned with third degree burns on over 35% of my body. After leaving the hospital, I tried every possible way to get out of my rehab program and to avoid wearing my pressure suit. I quickly realized it was futile and began to be a compliant patient studying and learning about every product, crème, exercise, etc… on the internet or in books. Out of this, Burn Care International, Inc was formed- recognizing that most of the suffering and physical deformities from burns in poor countries around the world could be minimized with education and training in effective rehabilitation. The process is not quick but it can be done by a staff with basic medical training and a good seamstress with a serger and sewing machine. BCI is dedicated to training willing medical workers in poor countries around the world to improve the lives of burn patients through an effective rehabilitation program. |
