| Introduction | Does brain training work for cognitive impairments? This is a chronicle of my brain training work with my son, A-One, now aged 23 years. We started his brain training when he was a few months past his 22nd birthday. A-One has some cognitive impairments which limit his capacity to fully utilise his abilities. After having read Barbara Arrowsmith-Young's book 'The Woman Who Changed Her Brain', I started to hope that there was something in this that could help my son. In 2012, the Arrowsmith program was not available in Brisbane, so I worked with what's available online. I also hoped to help in whatever way I could to make targeted brain training more accessible for people in Brisbane with cognitive impairments. This blog has been about how it goes. |
