IntroductionHusband to one (46 years and counting); father of five and grandfather of 17. Optimistic about the future, while simultaneously recognizing my personal weaknesses and the weaknesses of society in general.
InterestsFamily, church service, community service, travel, news and current events, reading, scripture study, social interaction, college and high school sports, live theatre. We have be blessed to travel in Alaska, Hawaii and most other states in the U.S. We've been to eastern and western Canada. We have enjoyed many European countries, including Spain, France, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Austria, U.K. and Belgium. We thrilled at seeing the Holy Lands and Egypt. Haiti was fascinating. St. Maartens Island and Barbados treated us well, as did Guatemala, Honduras, Peru and Mexico. Finally getting to see China, Japan and Hong Kong was a true privilege.
Favorite moviesLongest Day (because of what it represents and I have stood on those historic spots), To Kill a Mockingbird and others. (I'll return to this later).
Favorite musicMultiple genres: easy listening, oldies, jazz, hymns of praise, classic country, piano and violin duets or combined with flute. I am a percussionist. Les Miserables soundtrack.
Favorite booksI have read so many and can't remember most of them. In some fashion many of them have become part of who I am and my outlook on life. I especially like historical novels and history generally. I also hold dear the Bible and the Book of Mormon--two great testaments of Jesus Christ.

The squish of mud between your toes; how would you live your life as a frog?

Does a person's behavior too often reflect not who they really are but rather what they think that someone else thinks they are?
