Introduction Kei is a tall ship sailor and internationally acclaimed tanka poet who has recently added fiction writing to his literary activities. He served his apprenticeship on a Chesapeake Bay skipjack and currently crews with a fully rigged ship. Kei's short form poetry has appeared in journals and anthologies around the world. He is the Editor-in-chief of Take Five : Best Contemporary Tanka series; Editor of Fire Pearls: Short Masterpieces of the Human Heart, author of Heron Sea, Short Poems of the Chesapeake Bay, author of Slow Motion : The Log of a Chesapeake Bay Skipjack , and edits Atlas Poetica : A Journal of Poetry of Place in Contemporary Tanka. He recently published a series of gay nautical novels, Pirates of the Narrow Seas .
