| Introduction | The man known as Peter Collinson washed ashore at Rio de Janeiro less than a decade ago – two days into particularly wild Carnival, with two bullets and curare-tipped dart in his back, ten-thousand francs and a flask of single malt scotch in his pocket and of course little or no memory of a past life. His love of both films and film criticism began right then and there – when, as fate would have it, he was forced to dispatch a would-be assassin by garroting him with a rare copy of Famous Monsters of Filmland # 57, then hide-out for weeks in a bedraggled movie palace –- run by a formally black-listed ex-stuntman who insisted on screening nothing but Euro-spy flicks, B-grade monster films, Peckinpah inspired Japanese samurai movies and Mexican masked wrestler films 24 hours a day. Afterwards, he wandered north, working at assorted occupations including Greenpeace fundraiser, childcare specialist, bodyguard, reporter, and associate at Ken Starr’s law firm. He is currently prepping an action adventure and danger filled expedition to the farthest reaches of the martial-art of the political/policy blogger. |
