The New Corker - NY State Wine Blog
My blogs
| Introduction | I had my first glass of wine on a trip to Spain at age 19 many years ago. When asked where the wine came from the waiter said"out there", pointing out the window. Over the years I have become interested in local wines from New York. I remember buying pinot noir from Alex Hargrave's Long Island vineyard called "Year of Hurricane Belle" in 1978. I have seen the East End wines slowly but consistently improve to the level where I think they deserve more recognition, and this is true for the Finger Lakes as well as other New York appellations. I do not work in the wine industry, I do not represent any vineyards, I just like NY wines! |
