| Introduction | I am unable to walk down the street naked without repercussions, but I can walk down the street wearing a piece of jewellery which is a symbol of my sensual 'uncovering'. My works are a form of micro-resistance enabling one to comment on societal and cultural judgment, labels and norms without putting ones self at risk. Through the 'uncovering' of sensuality in a covert way, one does not run the risk of being rejected or incorrectly judged. But one feels the liberty of being 'uncovered' without actually having to risk an overt sensual 'uncovering'. |
