| Introduction | I was born with a severe and rare heart condition known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and Multiple Aorta Pulmonary Collateral Arteries(includes a large hole in the lower chambers of my heart,a small hole in the upper chambers of my heart,along with no pulmonary artery or valve,aortic arch on the opposite side of the heart,and many small stenosed arteries in my lungs.I have had over 40 procedures,graft repair on my leg due to a complication after a heart cath,along with 9 heart caths that include balloon angioplasties and 7 stent placements in my arteries to help increase blood to my lungs,and 3 open heart surgeries to attempt complete repair.My care now has become palliative and not an attempt to repair me at this time.I had a trach placed from 09/09 to 06/11 and during that time I was ventilator dependent due to complications after my second open heart surgery.I received these devices during a 5 month hospital stay,which at that time I had a G-tube(feeding) placed to help maintain my nutrition.Despite all of my medical issues,this has not slowed my drive to be a typical little girl.Also,I just recently started a Pre-K program and I love it!!! |
