| Introduction | I have not kept this blog updated because so many of my friends were new to blogging and were not willing to communicate via the blog. I still have a book study and the last book we discussed was Bishop Geoffrey Robinson's CONFRONTING POWER AND SEX IN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH. It is a wonderful book. Yes, I love to read and discuss good books. I am especially interested in theology. I set up this blog to help my book study group share our thoughts and opinions on the books we are reading. Although, this is a book study group that focuses on books about the Catholic church experience, it is not just for Catholics and the books do not have to be limited to Catholic dogma or themes. They can be books written by a practicing Catholic or a Catholic who has left the church, the books can be supportive or critical, they can be fiction or non-fiction, old or new, even controversial. The books need to expand our world and provoke us to think, to act and to care. It is my hope that ultimately our discussions will open our hearts to the gospel of love and compassion that Jesus calls us to. Please join me in this wonderful adventure. Blessings! |
