| Introduction | I have been a working artist for all of my adult life. My background is in decorative product design and textiles. After graduating from Syracuse University School of Art and getting my Masters of Fine Arts Degree from New York University, I started my 25+ year career in the fashion and home textiles industry. I started collecting Mid Century Modern furnishings and accessories in the late 1980s while living in Los Angeles. When I decided to direct my work toward fine art painting, MCM seemed the obvious area of my interests. My approach has been to illustrate scenes from the era, rather than to emulate the art of that time. As a decorative designer, I apply color schemes and subject themes that are palatable for home decor. I'm pleased to have found an audience of others who appreciate this time in history. I currently live and work in my suburban home in Greensboro, NC. I have two Flat-Coated Retrievers, Traveler and Oona who keep me company in the studio, and two cats, Fred and Ethel who prowl the house and tolerate the dogs. |
