| Introduction | My name is Joe Martin. As a speaker, author, and professor, I get the privilege to travel the country (approximately 60 to 75 cities year) motivating, educating, and inspiring teachers, students, and staff.
Born and raised in one of the toughest inner city ghettos in Miami, Florida, I was exposed to an environment plagued by drugs, violence, abuse, death, addiction, divorce, and poor self-esteem (among other things). I started “The RealWorld Men's Group” blog because I felt a heavy burden on my heart to reach out to young men to offer them friendship, advice, and encouragement (things I didn't received from my own father when I was a young man). I’ve been blessed with the opportunity (now) to provide those things to my own son, but I want to do more. I want to help you. In this blog, I will share with you some of the lessons I've learned to help me navigate and survive this difficult journey called "manhood." I hope you will find inspiration and motivation in my writings, but at the same time, if there's anything I can do to serve and support you along your journey, just let me know.
