| Introduction | I am nearly 50 and just starting a new life as an about to be divorcee and back at home with my mother. I have 1 son who has just left school and is about to start his apprenticeship. I have always adored eating and watching my mother cook in the kitchen for as long as I can remember. The smells used to make me so hungry, each meal she made was a masterpiece, whether it be sausage and mash or a the works at Christmas time. I loved cooking at school, I didn't have to work too hard at it, it was always the highlight of the school week. Yes, I did fail o level domestic science the first time but that was only because I caught shingles the day before I took the practical exam and was not allowed out of the house! I love to shop when I can at bakers, butchers, delicatessens, farm shops, farmers markets, fish mongers and green grocers when I can. I love to experiment with chefs recipes and make them suitable to my diet and recipes. As I suffer from kidney stones I have to be on a low salt and low fat diet, which is not as dull as it first seemed to me. |
