| Introduction | I think I my first real experiences in the outdoors were about 35 years ago when I went with my family on a car-camping trip to British Columbia. I was 6 years old. We travelled by car & stayed in an old canvas tent trailer the entire way. I remember very well the sights and sounds of that trip. I remember that among others we stopped in Thunder Bay On, and hiked the the Sleeping Giant. We stopped in Manitoba at Riding Mountain, Echo Valley in Saskatchewan, Banff in Alberta, and finally to my grandfather's home in Fanny Bay on Vancouver Island. This relatively simple family vacation, yet far from our little Southern Ontario town, had a pretty profound effect on me....it left me wanting to see, hear, and do more...out there. |
