| Introduction | When I was 9 or 10 years old, my mother put me in art lessons after I caught a likeness of our minister while drawing his picture on the church bulletin one Sunday. I painted in acrylic and oil through high school, but then life happened. I didn't mean to quit making art, but other than some projects with my children, I didn't touch a paintbrush for around 25 years! In 1999, my brother (an artist and potter himself) encouraged me to take a watercolor workshop with him. When I started painting, I found a piece of ME that I didn't even know was lost! Since then, I've worked with various teachers in watercolor, pastels, and oils. I'm a technical writer by trade with hairy deadlines, so art helps me de-stress and keeps me sane!
