Introduction The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is an international non-profit organization dedicated to serving the poor and providing others with the opportunity to serve. The Chicago Diocesan Council has been assisting Cook County and Lake County families since 1857. Programs include three thrift stores, 47 food pantries, dining rooms, and general assistance for individuals in need. Volunteer opportunities for those who would like to help the less fortunate in their community are available at more than 120 conferences (volunteer sites), our thrift stores, events and main office at 651 W. Lake St., Chicago.
