Introduction I'm originally from a corn field outside of Chicago, IL. Moved to Ohio to go to Miami University for undergrad and finished grad school about 4 years ago. I followed the love of my life to Oklahoma a little over 3 years ago into a beautiful home. The things we do for love :0) While there are times that I don't like it here, I found my life's purpose in Oklahoma, which was to work with children. I have an amazing job in Tulsa as a library media specialist and I love EVERY MINUTE of it. I love Chicago, the Cubs, my friends (new and old), broomball, reading books, building my personal library, volunteering, working with kidlets, my cats, and my wonderful, amazing husband, Justin. May 17, 2008 was the best day of my life b/c I married my very best friend. I'm so grateful for everyday of my life with him. I'm looking forward to the next year b/c Justin will be finishing up school and we'll be leaving Oklahoma for our next adventure! My best day is tied with the day my son was born May 11, 2009. Jackson Felix Gerber joined us and our lives are full of joy. He's truly the best baby in the whole wide world and we love him more than anything!
Interests Likes: Justin, friends, cowboys, any kind of cheesecake, The Cheesecake Factory, iced tea, my 400+ crazy students, movies (mostly the sappy, romantic comedy kind), pictures of the past, knowing I'm a better person than I was the day before, cheap knock off purses or the real kind like COACH(really any kind of purse I can afford), my house, my cats, broomball, Miami University, hockey, baseball players, libraries, reading, cuddle time, Mary Engelbreit, young adult literature, non-cheesy romance novels from Nicholas Sparks, walks, warm weather, Hawaii, Australia, the Crocodile Hunter (RIP), St. Lucia, carrots, family (eventhough they drive me nuts), reconnecting with people from high school that are really cool, weddings, Chicago, the Cubbies, Garfield, receiving letters in the mail, coming home to a home cooked meal after a long day, long, hot showers, wishes that come true, people who challenge me, Joangica time, stars, love and all the good and bad things that come with it, and traveling. There's a whole lot more, but I don't want to bore you. Dislikes: Slow drivers (ex. people who drive the speed limit in the fast lane), friends, family, and students that move away, carrot cake (YUCK!), fake people, stupid girls who major in MRS. in college, getting my heart hurt by the opposite sex, fashion from the 80's that's coming back, overrated TV shows like Survivor, people who jump on the bandwagon just to jump on the bandwagon, people who lie, spiders (although Oklahoma is teaching me how to get over my fear of them), people who lack the common sense to take care of their own children, working out, mushrooms, drugs of the illegal kind, horror movies, and lazy people. Favorite Movies Too many to name!
Favorite Music Oval Opus, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Sister Hazel, and a little of this and that.
Favorite Books Anything by Nicholas Sparks. Since I read children's literature daily, I'm a huge fan of "Where the Wild Things Are" and "The Giving Tree." Entirely too many to name.
