| Interests | Food, cooking & eating out are obviously my no.1 interests. I also love travel, this allows me to try different foods, I'm always up for eating where the locals do! Born in Derby, and after a brief spell in Blackpool & Ashbourne my family eventualy came back to Derby. My first food memories are my mothers cooking in the hotel we had in Ashbourne (the Station Hotel)I was about 8 or 9 at the time. Back in Derby I went to Bemrose Grammar school between 1971 -1976, Punk started as I left school and played a major part in my life. I spent most weekends going to London to watch bands like The Slits, Crass, The Clash, UK Subs, etc. By 1981 I found myself the singer in Derby punk band Anti-Pasti (Italian starters-a foodie name!?)We had a couple of great years playing with some of the best bands around at the time, The Damned, Dead Kennedys, UK Subs, etc. We headlined our own month long tour of the states and had numerous indie chart toppers. After the band I opened my first shop on Sadler Gate, Derby called G.U.T.S. In 1990 I opened the first Scenario store. I currently run a fashion store on the Strand, Derby selling contemporary menswear. I hope you get something from my site... - Martin |
