| Introduction | In my effort to become a better plein air artist, I have painted outside in the sunshine and under an umbrella in the rain. Winter scenes have been painted while standing alongside snow banks, while seated in the front seat of the car, and while looking outdoors through a dining room window. I have swatted my share of bugs, picked up my paintbox and tripod from the ground after a gust of wind, chased my hat in the breeze, checked around me for unseen moose or other critters, and winced as trucks and cars zoomed too close to where I stood on the roadside. Strangely, it never gets old....at least not yet. |
