CEIL BOYLES
My blogs
| Introduction | Strawberry shortcake with whipped cream, dangly earrings, and a nice glass of wine with dinner. But, enough about my hobbies. After working as a researcher in early child development and youth corrections for several years, I'm delving into a new career in children's book writing. It's exciting, daunting, and humbling. I've learned a tremendous amount by joining SCBWI, attending workshops and conferences, joining a critique group and meeting tons of talented authors. While I've not yet published, I have several completed YA and middle grade manuscripts, four of which have been awarded Pikes Peak Writers Paul Gillette Contest awards. I was also a finalist in the Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers Gold contest for my YA novel titled AWAKENING AT SPIRIT LAKE. I coordinated a retreat for children's book writers through SCBWI and was fortunate to entice award-winning author Randy Powell to come out from Seattle and facilitate our retreat. It was fabulous. That's my story, and I'm excited to be on my journey writing for children. |
