| Introduction | Margaret Parker is an independent artist who has worked in Michigan, New York, and Maine for the last 35 years. She has shown nationally and internationally, most recently with a piece in the Ann Arbor Film Festival; the “Windsor Biennial 2011” at the Art Gallery of Windsor, ON; and a solo show at Finlandia University International School of Art and Design, Hancock, MI, 2011. Her work is in the collections of the United States Capitol, the State Department Art Bank, the Maine Maritime Academy, University of Michigan Rackham Graduate School, Chelsea Medical Center, and many private collections. Parker is a founding member of the Women's Caucus for Art Michigan Chapter, a member of the Arts Alliance of Washtenaw County, and was on the City of Ann Arbor's Public Art Commission from 2004 to 2011, the Chair from 2006-2010. From 2000 to 2004, she founded and directed Art Pro Tem, a community based non-profit that sponsored experimental art in non-traditional spaces in Ann Arbor.
