| Introduction | The OSR Grimoire is a historical exploration of the Dungeons & Dragons game. I was introduced to D&D with Moldvay Basic in 1981, and ran several campaigns in the D&D Known World/Mystara, until 1996. I have been active mainly on Dragonsfoot, the Piazza, and OD&D Discussion forums since my return to the hobby, in 2009. It was Holmes Basic that drew me back in, from which I worked backwards into the origins of the game and its worlds. The past several years have witnessed the emergence of a host of hidden lore, which I will attempt to catalog and recap. |
