| Introduction | I was born in Montréal, Canada, and lived in a rural town in northern Portugal where I was surrounded by the beauty of nature. My love of nature grew to become my primary source of artistic inspiration. At the age of ten I returned to Canada. I studied Graphic Design at George Brown College in Toronto and worked in various fields within the industry. I also worked for Nelvana Limited, then Canada's leading animation studio, as a Computer Colour Stylist. A few years ago, I started my own fine art and greeting card business, "THE SPIRIT OF HELDER." While the subject matter of my paintings has varied, I now place more emphasis on themes of personal growth, Christianity, and nature. I worked with Watercolour and other media in the past but currently work primarily with Acrylics and Oils. I also love photography and travel. I share a studio with a spirited canary in Toronto, Canada. "I am trying to free people and fill a profound need in today's modern, frantic world: a need for mankind to enjoy beauty and tranquility; a need to acquire understanding and knowledge; and most importantly, a need for spiritual growth.
